If anyone wishes to come after Me,
He must deny himself, surrender willingly.
Not mere restraint, but a yielding whole,
Our desires, ambitions, motives—God’s control.
Take up your cross, the Savior said,
Symbol of suffering, yet more than lead.
Endure hardship, persecution, and strife,
For the sake of Christ, embrace this life.
Follow Me, He beckons, footsteps to trace,
Love, compassion, obedience interlace.
Trust, humility, perseverance our guide,
In this lifelong journey, faith shall abide.
The paradox of true life unfolds its grace,
Gaining the world, yet losing our soul’s space.
Worldly allure fades, emptiness it conceals,
In surrender to Christ, eternal fulfillment reveals.
