In Authority’s Shadow

In halls of power, where leaders tread,
God’s watchful gaze upon them rests.
Expectations high, their hearts laid bare,
For righteousness and justice they must bear.

Holiness demands a steady hand,
To weigh decisions, to understand.
Integrity their compass, truth their guide,
For actions ripple far and wide.

But pride, oh pride, a treacherous snare,
When self exalts and clouds the air.
Dependence on God, forgotten, lost,
Leads down a path where souls are tossed.

Humility, a beacon in the night,
Acknowledging limits, seeking light.
God’s sovereignty, a truth profound,
Keeps leaders grounded, feet on solid ground.

Worldly knowledge, a tempting prize,
Yet God’s wisdom lifts our eyes.
True understanding, His principles reveal,
A compass pointing to what’s real.

Reverence for God, our compass true,
Guides us in all we say and do.
Justice and mercy, hand in hand,
As leaders strive to serve the land.

So let us lead with hearts ablaze,
In God’s embrace, our purpose raise.
For in His light, we find our way,
To righteousness and justice every day.
